THE Lickey Monarchs team of Roy Norton, Sid Hodgetts and Martin Clarke were too good for mid-table Barnt Green, winning 10-0 in the Bromsgrove and Redditch League.
Second in the league Carter Retail beat Astwood Bank 8-2 with Ken Southwell getting the Bank's two wins. Mark Fiddian won all his games for Carter, with Ron Butterton and Gary Jackson getting two each.
There were some close matches in the game between West Midland Phones B and SPSP but Phones won 9-1. Colin Would and Don Shillingford both won their three games with Alan Hyatt getting two. Steve Nicholls got SPSP's only win.
Droitwich were away at West Midland Phones and won 8-2. Gordon Nicklin and Tony Birch both won their three games for Droitwich with John Hughes getting one. Ian Maybury and Fred Harrison won one each for the Phones.
In Division Two West Midland Phones C were at Studley Road Nomads and won 7-3. Ian Cooper, Colin Platt and Jeff Cook all won two singles for Phones, with Ian and Colin winning the doubles as well. Bernie Leech won two for Studley with Jeff Lines getting the other.
Barnt Green B won 6-4 at Carter Retail C thanks to Pat McCabe winning his three singles. John Davies and Jim McGuire got one each and Pat and Jim then won the doubles to get the win. For Carter, Steve Dimbylow and Brian Askey won two each.
In the remaining games, Hillcrest beat Studley Road Terriers 10-0 and Barnt Green Hornets beat Droitwich C by the same score.
