Redditch Federation of Anglers have held their first match on Ipsley Pool since taking over its management.
The Federation have not got exclusive rights to fishing on the pool, anyone in Redditch can fish there, but the Federation, in co-operation with the Council, are looking after and improving the facility.
The day started overcast and after the heavy rainfall the night before the fish were not biting as they had a few days previously.
Fifteen anglers turned out for this first match, which nearly filled all the fishing areas around the pool (one side is left as a conservation area).
After four hours Alan Dawson won with 4-10-8 of roach and skimmer bream, second was Dave Fisher with 4-8-0 of skimmer bream with a few roach and third was Barry Fitzgerald with 3-2-0 of the same but also including some rudd.
Alan Hook was fourth on the day with the largest fish caught a bream of 1-14-0.
