When the market was in the centre of the town it gave a vibrancy to the area, was commercially successful and had the air of being in its rightful place - Market Place.
It would have been sensible of the council to have acknowledged that. Though initially a temporary measure, it was one of those rare occasions were everyone wins and to have left it there.
The global issues of the day are outside the remit of councillors so with local elections due shortly, it would seem a good opportunity for all concerned about the location of Redditch Market to discover the views of the candidates and vote accordingly.
