NEW audio tours are set to be introduced at Forge Mill Museum and Bordesley Abbey this Easter.
The tours, produced by the same firm which has organised audio tours at Stonehenge, will act as a personal guide and will allow visitors to experience the sounds and atmosphere of the needle museum's scouring mill, as well as life in a medieval monastery.
During the tour, visitors will meet Richard Hemming, a former owner of Forge Mill, and Adelaide Curt, a 19th century needle worker who moved to Redditch from Long Crendon in Buckinghamshire in 1844.
They will also hear local men George Betterton and Les Jakeman describing some of the needle-making processes, as well as see the water wheel and scouring machinery in action.
The tours, which began on Friday, are funded by the Dutch Fulford Foundation and are primarily aimed at an adult audience, although they are set to be followed by tours for children and visually impaired visitors.
