WORCESTER Wanderers are celebrating after clinching promotion.
The amateur arm of Worcester Rugby Club had been due to play in a promotion play-off against Staffordshire One runners-up Linley on Saturday, but have automatically gone up following a league restructure.
Wanderers finished runners-up to Solihull in North Midlands One but, after the Rugby Football Union approved an expansion of Midlands Four West (South), Worcester were promoted to that division.
"We are absolutely delighted," said chairman Michael Clarke.
"Having beaten Solihull we were disappointed to finish second but this has made up for that. Credit must go to the players and coach Steve Lloyd who have gone that extra mile this season to win promotion.
"Next season we will be looking to consolidate but we are ambitious enough to start with the hope of promotion again."
