DEAR EDITOR - On November 29, 2000, you published a letter from George Leach asking for readers to contact him if they remembered a German bomber flying over Bromsgrove en-route for The Austin Motor Co factory at Cofton Hackett.
On March 14, 2001, you published my letter summarising what Mr Leach and myself had found out about this raid. Altogether 13 eyewitnesses contacted us, and after March 14 nothing more was done until a chance remark heard by me on a TV programme in the summer of 2002 caused me to embark on a more detailed investigation.
I have now written an account of my findings, giving details of the aircraft involved, their units and the names and other information about the airmen involved: one Englishman, two Poles and five Germans. I have a few spare copies of this account and if any of the eyewitnesses, or other interested persons, would like a copy (only five available) they should write to me enclosing two first class postage stamps.
