AT a women's institute meeting in Cofton Hackett, Mrs Yardley gave a talk on a cycling holiday to France. She said the food was wonderful, the scenery spectacular and they had much fun trying to make the French people understand what they said.

A grand dance was being held at the Harris Brush works. Admission was 5/- (25p). Free transport was provided by Midland Red buses.
The excitement was mounting for the Queen's coronation and the Messenger office was offering souvenirs and declarations. The souvenirs included fountain pens, propelling pencils, jigsaws and display flags.
