IN my letter headlined "Politics and the public purse" I basically asked why Lottery money, and Council Tax money was apparently being used, by the Worcestershire Racial Equality Council, for what I take to be political purposes.
If our Worcester city councillors and our Worcestershire County Councillors can vote through £380,000 of taxpayers' money, for the Worcestershire Racial Equality Council, why aren't they asking why the organisation is apparently using those taxpayers' funds for political purposes? Will they please tell us?
According to the BNP's election handout, we taxpayers fund all asylum seekers' household expenses, to the point of installing a new cooker, a 20-inch television, and central heating, if not already fitted in privately rented accommodation.
I would submit that pensioners do not enjoy such all-encompassing benefits. Would local politicians care to explain?
N TAYLOR, Worcester.
