AT the annual luncheon of the women's section of the Royal British Legion, the Bromsgrove branch handed to the county president, Lady Sandys, a cheque for £2,400 for the national fund. This was the largest donation from any of the branches in the county.
The branch has a membership of 24 of whom only about eight are active members who work exceedingly hard to raise this money, holding coffee mornings, bring and buy sales and all sorts of activities. In addition, they do excellent work for the Poppy Appeal; all of this money is used to help ex-servicemen and women and their families.
We would like to welcome not only those who are already members but also any ladies who would like to help those to whom we owe so much. If you would like more information about what we do and details of our meetings, call Mary Joy on 871604.
