SPORTY teachers at a Bromsgrove school are putting down their books and lacing up their trainers in aid of charity.
Seven staff at South Bromsgrove High will be getting active and fundraising over the next month.
Alan Brownlee, a science and PE teacher at the community school, is leaving at Easter to cycle across the US for charity.
He is using the opportunity to raise money for one of the Charford Road school's charities - a new education centre in Tanzania. Links were forged between the school and the African charity after a visit of musicians in a 'new life' band earlier this year.
Meanwhile Robert Beardsmore, Jason Chevassut, Christopher Giles, Darren Hill, Vicky Sarsons and Patrick Barker make up the sporty six who are training for the Shakespeare half marathon for Cancer Research, which will be held this Sunday in Stratford-upon-Avon.
If anyone wishes to make a donation, money can be handed in to the school reception.
