PREMATURELY born twins, who weighed a total of five pounds between them, were given a special treat for their trip home from hospital.
Aaron and Emily Carmichael enjoyed an early taste of the high life when they were driven home by Frank Lancaster, of Graceland Garage.
Frank heard about the premature twins and how it was their mum's wish to make their home-coming a really special occasion. He immediately offered the family a free trip in his limousine. The twins were born on February 7 but were not due until May 1.
It was touch-and-go for little Aaron on two occasions during his stay in hospital when doctors said he was unlikely to last through the night.
But the brave little fighter made it against all the odds.
Emily and Aaron finally arrived home to Graham Crescent in Rubery last Monday from Birmingham Women's hospital.
Mum-of-three Beverly said: "I just wanted something really special for when I finally got my twins home."
There was champagne when the twins came out of the hospital and family and friends were waiting for them when they arrived back home.
Proud five-year-old brother Josh, who attends Beaconside First and Middle School, hadn't held the twins until Monday.
When asked by his mum how it felt to hold his new brother and sister he said 'really cool!'
Delighted Beverly said: "The night before they came home I couldn't sleep I was so excited and my husband Martin kept saying go to sleep because we'll have enough sleepless nights to come!"
Beverly added: "We want to thank Frank Lancaster for being so kind to us and our friend, Lisa Dealiselle for her support."
