A MAN was killed and two others injured after a head-on collision at the junction of Money Lane and Chadwich Lane, Bromsgrove.
The accident occurred last Tuesday night at 8.20pm when a white Volvo 480 ES and a blue Ford Fiesta collided.
The driver of the Volvo, 51-year-old Edwin Charles Salter, from Hill Street, Halesowen, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The front seat passenger of the Volvo, a man who has not been named but who is in his early 40s and also came from Halesowen, was taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch with head and leg injuries. His condition was described as serious. The driver of the Ford Fiesta is from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. He was also taken to the Alexandra Hospital with minor injuries.
In addition to the traffic police, an ambulance from Kidderminster and two fire engines attended the scene.
The fatality is the second death that has occurred in three months on Money Lane. In February, 19-year-old football star Ashley Read was killed when his car was involved in a crash.
Earlier this month an elderly man was left in a critical condition after a car crash at the junction of Money Lane and the A491.
Wildmoor residents have been campaigning for safety measures to be introduced on the lane.
North Worcestershire Divisional Traffic Officer, PC Dean Cave is appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact him on 08457 444888 extension 3952.
