A WOMAN needed six stitches after she was pushed to the floor and punched during an attack in an alleyway.

The terrified woman was set upon while she was walking along an alleyway between Austin Road and Collis Close in Charford, Bromsgrove.

Now police want to talk to anyone who may have any information about the attack, which happened at about 5.20pm on Friday, April 11.

The 25-year-old woman, who has not been named, was walking home when she passed a gang of youths in the alleyway. As she walked past, a stone was thrown at her and one of the youths shouted abuse.

She kept walking but then noticed three of the youths behind her. She was pushed to the floor and was hit across the head and punched around the body.

The brave woman managed to get up off the floor, grab her bag and run away from the gang. As she fled she ran past a woman who was stood at the bus stop in Charford Road and she noticed a number of people by the shops.

After the attack the woman was treated at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. She had cuts and bruises and needed six stitches to a cut on her side.

It is believed the main attacker was a white girl, about 16-years-old who is 5ft 2in and of big build. She had dyed blond hair, which had a centre parting and was about chin length. At the time of the attack she was wearing a dark-coloured bubble-type coat.
