LICKEY Monarchs signed off their championship season with a 10-0 whitewash of Barnt Green A in the final round of matches in the Bromsgrove and Redditch Table Tennis League.
Monarchs' team of Roy Norton, Sid Hodgetts and Martin Clarke swept aside mid-table Barnt Green while second place Carter Retail A defeated Astwood Bank 8-2 with Ken Southwell getting Banks' two wins.
Mark Fiddian won all his games for Carter with Ron Butterton and Gary Jackson getting two each.
West Midlands Phones B came out 9-1 victors against SPSP despite some close matches. Colin Would and Don Shillingford both won their three games for the Phones while Alan Hyatt got two. Steve Nicholls recorded SPSP's only win.
Droitwich A won 8-2 at West Midland Phones A. Gordon Nicklin and Tony Birch both won their three games for the visitors with John Hughes winning one. Ian Maybury and Fred Harrison won a game each for the Phones.
In division two, West Midlands Phones C were 7-3 winners at Studley Road Nomads. Ian Cooper, Colin Platt and Jeff Cook all won two singles each for the Phones. Cooper and Platt also won the doubles. Bernie Leech won two games for Studley with Jeff Lines getting the other.
Barnt Green B won 6-4 at Carter Retail C thanks again to Pat McCabe winning his three singles. John Davies and Jim Maguire got one each before McCabe and Maguire won the doubles for Carter.
In the remaining games, Hillcrest and Barnt Green Hornets whitewashed Studley Road Terriers and Droitwich C 10-0 respectively.
