SOUTH Shropshire Swimming Development organised the South Shropshire Primary Schools Swimming Gala, combining with Beka Bodenham, assistant manager at South Shropshire Leisure Centre, and individuals, volunteers and groups.
Members of Ludlow Swimming Club provided fully-qualified officials, referees, judges, timekeepers and marshalls.
Of the 30-primary schools in South Shropshire, entries were received from 12 schools, with 179 different swimmers. Performances were of a high standard.
The final results were: Front crawl, boys: 1 Harry Rossiter, Caynham, 2 Tom Everett, Church Stretton, 3 Thomas Wain, Cleobury Mortimer; girls: 1 Hannah Arkwright, Church Stretton; 2 Lauren Richards, Church Stretton; 3 Trevine Lagford; Corvedale.
Breast stroke (boys): 1 Matthew Bayliss, Ludlow St Laurence, 2 Harry Rossiter, Caynham, 3 Archie Bolton, Church Stretton; girls: 1 Stevie Rogers, Ludlow St Laurence; 2 Erin Keogh, Ashford Carbonell; 3 Hannah Storeley, Burford.
