TENBURY'S final North Midlands 2 League match of the season at Aldridge was abandoned in unusual circumstances when the referee called a halt to proceedings at half-time because he had pulled a calf muscle.
Under league rules only a qualified referee could have stepped in, and as there was no one available, the captain's agreed with his decision to abandon the game. At the time, Tenbury were leading 14-12 thanks to a length of the field run by centre Darren Kite and a well-worked back-row move which saw number eight Andy Black touch down, Andy Yeomans converting both tries.
