AN INQUEST into the death of a Redditch man opens today in Birmingham after he was hit by a car while out with friends on a birthday celebration in the city on Saturday, April 12.
Police are to also hold a high profile appeal in the area of Islington Row near Five Ways where Neil Andrew Tyler, of Matchborough West, was hit by the car which failed to stop.
They will be speaking to people and handing out leaflets.
Mr Tyler, who was 26 and a forklift truck operator, died a few days after suffering head injuries in the collision.
His parents were due to make a personal appeal at a press conference in Birmingham today, which police hope will help track down the driver of the car.
