A REDDITCH teenager has been nominated for a shortlist for a major new national awards scheme.
Natalie Leroux, 17, has joined just 35 young people in the UK who have been chosen to join the Whitbread Young Achievers (WYA) for those who have "made a difference".
Natalie was nominated by her mother in the sport category for being a positive role model for football in the community.
The teenager coaches girls' football at Pitcheroak School in Batchley and also helps with the boys' team.
She volunteers eight hours a week at the school and is also involved in helping children who do less well academically improve their self-confidence.
Natalie is now working towards her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards and has been chosen to visit Romania.
Judges in the WYA sport category include England badminton international Gillian Clark MBE and Natalie will know by the end of the month whether she will be chosen for the final shortlist.
