AN action-packed Wythall carnival has been planned for this year.

The carnival, on Sunday, August 10, at Wythall Park, will be free for residents after a generous grant from Wythall Parish Council.

Carnival planners have said a larger fair will be set up on the car park and the arena will be on the football pitch.

But the main attraction at the carnival will be 12ft high wrestlers to provide a comedy wrestling match refereed by clown Handy Andy.

Radio presenter Carl Chinn will be doing his Radio WM programme from the carnival and model engineers will bring a steam engine to give rides at the event.

There will be the usual classic car display on the day, as well as static displays in the Wythall House Britannia Room to show what activities they offer.
