A HOPWOOD road which has been closed for months was due to re-open on Monday following work to help cut sewer flooding and improve the system in Barnt Green and Hopwood.
The work in Ash Lane started in December and formed part of a £1.1 million Severn Trent project to help reduce the risk of flooding to 20 homes in Bittell Road, Fiery Hill and Ash Lane.
The Advertiser reported last month the owner of Hopwood Garden Centre claimed trade was down 60 per cent in February because the work to lay new pipes outside his Ash Lane premises created access problems.
Peter Joannides said the centre had been cut off from trade because customers could not reach it from the main road and instead had to come via the M42 slip road.
