WEEKS of hard graft have paid off for Alcester's Shakespeare Hospice volunteers.
Workers have spent the past months revamping the High Street charity shop before the official opening by Mayor Ron Leek and town crier Keith Tomlinson.
The Shakespeare Hospice has been raising funds in Alcester for the past three years and has been well supported by Alcestrians.
However, both customers and volunteers agreed it was in desperate need of a revamp and shop manager Carole Barber swapped her pricing gun for a hard hat and has been busily co-ordinating work with assistant manager Thelma Woollerton, ready for the opening.
