ALCESTER Nursery School raised more than £400 on Saturday at a special event held at the Greig Centre.
The money will go towards the Oxford Reading Tree, which helps children to learn about different characters in books before they start reading them.
The children also let off 100 balloons in a balloon race.
The first one has already been returned all the way from Cheshire.
