AFTER the usual business and correspondence, Doreen Springer gave a comprehensive report on the Annual Council meeting, one of the highlights of which had been a talk by Graham Walton on 'Living with seven women'.
Names were taken for the forthcoming group quiz and group resolution meetings.
There was a good selection of proposed outings to sign up for and several members are looking forward to the visit to Barnsdale.
The luncheon club will meet at National Trust property Charlecote Park, when lunch will be followed by a tour of the house and gardens.
Plans have been finalised for the links with Hillside and Alvechurch WIs to provide teas for the St George's Day celebrations at Alvechurch Village Hall.
Speaker for the evening was Jean Hill, a graphic and design artist.
After leaving art college Jean was employed at Cadburys for many happy years. Gradually, as the work became more computerised, Jean decided to work freelance.
Since then, she has completed many commissions for promotional calendars and book illustrations, as well as the usual portraits and paintings.
More free time has enabled Jean to enlist on various art courses and try more new mediums in painting.
After her talk, members were able to look at many of her past designs for presentation boxes of chocolates and Easter eggs, together with all aspects of her current work.
The meeting on May 1 will be to discuss the resolutions.
