AN oil painting of the Queen Mother by a Worcester artist is one of the lots up for grabs in an auction in aid of St Richard's Hospice.
Painter Pat Wurmli donated the 18ins by 24ins painting to the auction of nine pieces by different artists from the Midlands, being held at Worcester's Guildhall on Friday, April 25.
"It is an excellent painting and we are hopeful it will raise lots of money for us," said Marilyn Peachey director of fund-raising at St Richard's Hospice, at Rose Hill.
Other artists from the area, including Worcester water-colourist David Birtwhistle and Ken Potts - sculptor of the Elgar statue opposite the Cathedral - will be exhibiting on the Friday and between 10am and 3pm on Saturday at the Guildhall.
Entrance is free and all the art is for sale.
"The artists are very keen to help and this is going to be a very professional exhibition," said Mrs Peachey.
"We hope as many people come along as possible."
For the auction, which begins at 7pm on Friday with a private viewing, is free but tickets need to be obtained from St Richard's Hospice on 01905 763963.
