Don is currently serving with distinction as Mayor of Stourport, and is coming towards the end of a four-year term as a town councillor.
He lives in the ward he seeks to represent at district level, in Malham Road, Burlish Park.
Don worked at Kidderminster College as a lecturer for many years.
He now works part-time as a driver for Brooklyn Motors.
Don chooses Labour's local policies on community safety as a particularly important Wyre Forest issue.
He believes that increases in police numbers and the introduction of street wardens provide a basis for closer liaison with the public.
Meeting local people in his council work, Don is struck by their insights into issues of crime and anti-social behaviour.
He sees Labour's proposals for ward-based consultation between police, wardens, the council and local residents as a way forward to a better quality of life for local communities.
