EVESHAM United lost 1-0 at home to Halesowen Town in the second leg of the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup final last night for a 3-0 aggregate defeat.
A 48th minute goal by Mark Danks put paid to any hopes United had of pulling back a two-goal deficit and the Yeltz ran out worthy winners.
The surprise inclusion of striker Sam Bowen failed to provide United with the firepower needed as Halesowen lifted the cup.
After early Evesham pressure Halesowen responded with a Richard Leadbeater header that flew just over and goalkeeper Tim Hart was again in action, saving well from Danks.
But three minutes into the second-half the tie disappeared from United's grasp. A Michael Blackwood shot hit an upright and Danks followed up to head home.
Wesley Joyce nearly pulled a goal back but headed wide and then Gary Hateley then tipped over a Jukes free-kick.
Evesham: Hart 8, Smith 6, Sage 6 (Pinkney 60, 6), Khela 7, Powell 7, Jukes 7, Wolsey 6, Oakey 6, Joyce 5, Bowen 5 (Blake 80), Heath 6 (Lennon 70, 6). Subs: Barnett, Ladek.
