FOR friendly competitive atmosphere look no further than the Seniors section at The Vale Golf and Country Club.
All standards and ages are made welcome and a turnout of up to 80 players currently turn out every Monday.
Embarking on a hectic fixture list, the section has started their season at a rush having already played six matches against teams from Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
Home matches have resulted in a draw with The Chase and wins against Hagley and Tewkesbury Park.
Away matches at Droitwich, Upper Sapey and Redditch have, unfortunately, failed to bring a victory.
The highlight of the matches was the ace recorded by Denis Crane against Tewkesbury.

The Kirkpatrick Cup, the first "board competition" held in honour of the founding senior captain, was won by David Leake (40pts) from Ron Taylor (39) with five other members, including 2002 winner Stuart Crowther, close behind on 38.
A Summer Eclectic over six games is also under way with the current divisional leaders Hans Holzgartner, Tony Horner and Eric Morris.
The ladies first qualifying medal saw good scores recorded with Aimee Ledbury carding a net 74 to win the Silver Division.
Bronze section winners were Rose Shufflebotham (82) and Sue Vincent (75).
Caroline Edwards, with an excellent 44 points, won the Marie Curie Stableford and goes on to represent the club in the semi-finals.
Other notable scores came from Liz Holzgartner (41), Pat Mayo (38) and Pauline Lee (37).
The Mail on Sunday team succumbed to a fine Broadway squad 2 -1.
The Beauchamp Cup, a prestigious board competition, ended with four teams level on 41 points.
Conditions were far from easy with a blustery wind and tough pin positions but the victors on countback were Pauline Laight and A J Smith.
Jean and Steve Humphries claimed second spot from Maureen Austin & Kevin Carroll, with defending champions Sue Macfarlane and Ian Crocker in fourth.
