THE general manager at a Broadway hotel completed his first marathon in London.
David Field, of the Dormy House Hotel, completed the London Marathon in four hours and 20 minutes after six months of hard training.
He had never taken part in a running event of this type but wanted to do it for the Lymphoma Association.
"People always expect hotel managers to be more interested in eating, drinking and socialising than keeping fit," David said. "Not that I don't enjoy those leisure interests too, but my mother died of lymphoma cancer when she was 60 and a friend of mine has the disease too, so I decided it was time to do something positive for the charity."
He raised £1,700 and enjoyed it so much he was booked in to run the Stratford half-marathon.
