RURAL communities near Stratford have been urged to learn more about the transport schemes Warwickshire County Council has to offer.
Jan Humphrey, who has been appointed as the new local volunteer transport co-ordinator for the Rural Transport Partnership, will be able to advise residents in Wilmcote and Aston Cantlow about special projects to help with transport.
The partnership offers a service to small communities and ensures that as much information as possible about alternative travel is spread to those left at home without their own transport.
She said: "My role will entail more than reading out the local bus or train timetable to you. There are many variations on this and it is one of our objectives to enable all members of the community to access the most convenient form of transport to the services and facilities they require.
"For example, using the voluntary car scheme to get to medical appointments, the vehicle sharing scheme for groups wanting to hire accessible transport and lots more."
