A SUCCESSFUL coffee morning was held recently at The Orchard Community Centre, Colletts Green when the grand total of £370 was raised for the Senior Citizens' Social Fund. The raffle produced a great many prize winners, the tombola proved a great success with bric-a-brac raising £60 and raffle £80.
At the Easter morning service, St Peter's Church was beautifully decorated with daffodils and Easter lilies, spring flowers and green foliage. Special thanks to all who contributed in time and money to the decoration. Rev Jean Fardon, with assistance by Paul Higgins and Lynn Nichol, led the service. The reading was by Marion Lewis with prayers led by Jo Walker. The choir, accompanied on the organ by Lyndall Brown, sang the anthems Proclaim the Glory and All in the April Evening. The service ended with the Celtic Blessing and the hymn Thine be the Glory.
Congratulations to Catherine Nichol, aged nine years, of Colletts Green who, with her partner Emma Ward, was awarded a bronze trophy in the junior section of a festival of gymnastics. The event was held at Madresfield Early Learning Centre by the Madresfield Movement Club just before Easter.
