A GIRLS rugby development day is being held at Upton-upon-Severn RFC on Sunday from 10am to 1pm.
The event, organised by the Worcestershire All Sports Partnership (WASP) is for girls aged between 11 and 15 years who are currently playing tag or contact rugby at a club or school in the county.
Girls who have played tag-rugby at the Worcestershire Youth Games or show an enjoyment or interest for the sport are also invited to attend.
The development day aims to provide players with an understanding of the basic skills of rugby football and will be staffed by qualified RFU coaches, who are accredited by WASP and CRB cleared.
Parents and carers are also invited to attend as spectators and meet the event organisers, who will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns that the parents or carers may have.
All girls should bring suitable sports clothing and rugby or soccer boots, a mouth guard and any other protection they may normally wear, such as shin pads.
They should also bring their own drink bottle and a packed lunch although refreshments will be provided.
For further details please contact Allan Hughes, the WASP rugby administrator on NmidlandsYPR-RFU@btinternet.com or 01902 676009.
