n UPTON Town Council planning committee has recommended refusal of an application to build a swimming poolhouse and garage. Members, who met last week, said they had no objections to a poolhouse at Highly House, in Wheatley Lane, but considered the size and height of the proposed garage excessive. The application will be considered by Malvern Hills District Council in a few weeks' time.
n AN application for a single-storey rear kitchen and dining room extension at 7 Severn Drive was recommended for approval.
n A PROPOSED first-floor extension and garage at Barley Orchard, Welland Road, Upton, is too big, according to the planning committee. Members are recommending rejection of the applica-tion.
n A Plan for a new staircase at 1 The Cross, Old Street, is being recommended for approval.
n NO objections were made to an application for the demolition of a garage at 62 Old Street. The application also involves rebuilding a new party wall and brick boundary with timber gates. Planning committee members asked that the construction use old bricks in keeping with the style of the area.
n AN application for a white PVCu conservatory at 11 Lawnside Close, Upton, is being recommended for approval.
