PLANS to promote specialist short breaks in the Malvern area are being made by tourism officers at Malvern Hills District Council.
The council is working with local hotels and bed and breakfasts to persuade visitors to stay and indulge in activities or hobbies, rather than just staying for the day and leaving.
"Our visitor numbers show a lot of people are coming to Malvern but more people would be better," said Angela Lessimore, tourism manager at MHDC.
"This is something that we have been talking about for the past three months. We feel that we are going to be one of the first Tourist Information Centres to offer tailor made breaks."
Ideas for possible themes for breaks include walking, photography and aromatherapy.
