I wonder if any of your readers can help me with a research project I am undertaking. I am assembling information for a book I plan to write on the Royal Marines who took part in the famous Zeebrugge Raid on St George's Day, 1918.
One of those who took part, Bert Wells, came from Malvern and for 20 years after leaving the Marines he was a postman, living at 41 Church Road. He died in June 1965. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for his bravery in the raid.
If any your readers have any reminiscences, or a photograph, of Mr Wells I would be delighted to hear from them. Perhaps somebody can tell me whether he is buried in a local churchyard?
