MALVERN Town Wanderers U14s overcame league high riders Peopleton Juniors with a fine all round team display.
MALVERN TOWN WANDERERS U14s 3, PEOPLETON JUNIORS U14s 0
The 3-0 scoreline was fine reward in what was a very entertaining game. Luke Arnold broke the deadlock crashing home Matt Hopwood's delivery with just five minutes on the clock. After 14 minutes Luke Arnold doubled his, and the Wanderers, tally with a tidy finish from Matt Bayer's pin point free kick.
Eleven minutes into the second half the score was complete as Matt Hopwood's well flighted corner was only partially cleared and Matt Bayer was on hand to thunder the ball to the top corner. Fine defensive play from Kris Denslow, Matt Bayer and Micky Pearson kept any threat of danger at bay and protected the alert keeping of Ashley Bennett.

MALVERN TOWN WANDERERS U14s 9,
BROMYARD TOWN U14s 0
BROMYARD Town U14s arrived at Sling Lane on the back of a fine midweek victory.
Wanderers habit of pressurising early paid dividends as Matt Hopwood drilled home Scott Robert's through ball with just seconds on the clock. Fine build up play between Matt Hopwood and Scott Roberts picked out Zach Blood who made no mistake with an angled drive for number two. Enterprising play between Tom Chadney and Shaun Carrey found Matt Hopwood to fire in number three. The quick reactions of Micky Pearson and the trusty left foot made it four from Shaun Carrey's accurate centre. A brilliant penalty save from keeper Ashley Bennett meant a clean sheet. On half time Matt Hopwood claimed his hat-trick with a fine individual finish to make it five.
In the second half he unselfishly played in Zach Blood for his second to power home from close range for number six. Shaun Carrey was next on the score sheet as he slotted home in style from 12 yards following a Matt Hopwood corner. Number eight was not long waited for and saw Matt Hopwood claim his fourth of the game. The scoring was completed as Micky Pearson cleverly chipped the advancing Bromyard keeper.
Man of the match was Matt Hopwood and Wanderers are sponsored by Malvern Tree & Garden Services.
MOSTYN RANGERS U14s 2,
WELLAND JUNIORS U14s 0
WELLAND travelled to Kidderminster with high expectations having won their last five matches but suffered a severe setback before the game even started when their keeper failed to turn up.
Despite enforced last minute positional and formation changes Welland enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges on a hard and bumpy pitch with any attempt on goal by the home side being comfortable dealt with by stand in keeper Andy Smith.
As the game progressed Mostyn began to settle and increasingly threatened the visitors goal, finally scoring from outside the area after 20 minutes.
After the interval Welland began to dominate more of the play, despite playing a 5-3-2 formation, and created numerous scoring opportunities but unusually for Welland they just couldn't find the back of net.
Mostyn had to work hard to secure a victory which was sealed when they scored their second goal some ten minutes before the end.
Welland will look to get back to winning ways next week when they travel to local rivals, Malvern United.
This week's man of the match, sponsored by the Ryall Forest Supporter's Club, was Andy Smith.
NEWTOWN JUNIORS U12s 2,
LYPPARD JUNIORS U12s 1
ON a warm Wednesday evening Newtown took on Lyppard Juniors in another close encounter.
The first half saw few clear cut chances, Preece, Lean and Robinson played some neat football down the left but could not find the incisive pass to break down a stubborn Lyppard defence. At the back Kyte, Phillips, Clack and Gilks had to be alert to Lyppard's dangerous looking counter attacks but the first half ended goalless.
In the second half Newtown began to get the upper hand, Kyte went close with a header before Preece opened the scoring when he cut into the box and struck his shot into the top right hand corner. Lyppard equalised when Steven Jeffries volleyed home from close range. Newtown's response was again excellent when they restored their lead within minutes. Lean combined with Preece to cross for Butler who finished from close range. Brave defending by Clack and the luck of the cross bar denied Lyppard an equaliser and Newtown held on for a well earned victory keep the pressure on league leaders Kays.
Newtown's man of the match was Jack Kyte. Newtown are sponsored by Wells Joinery.
NEWTOWN SPORTS COLTS U10s 1,
NEWTOWN SPORTS JUNIORS U10s 2
THIS internal Newtown derby saw the Juniors consolidate their runners up position with two dramatic late goals to secure all three points.
Good flowing football was always going to be difficult on a hard uneven pitch and strong cross wind. Both sides pressed early on and Jack Merley in the Colts goal made two fine saves whilst Bridges and Wren had to be alert at the back for the Juniors. Colts opened the scoring, a cross was not dealt with by the Juniors and in the ensuing melee a Colts forward headed home. This rocked the Juniors and they responded with a series of attacks that kept the Colts penned in their own area whilst Merley made sure his side remained in front.
The second half was all one-way traffic in favour of the Juniors as the Colts sat back and absorbed the pressure. Wren saw a header just clear the bar, Turner and Bannister shot just wide and Merley dealt with anything on target. With three minutes remaining Juniors scored a deserved equaliser. Turner found space and fired in a hopeful shot, Merley made the save but spilt the ball and Adam Loader gleefully tapped into an empty net. With only seconds left Turner received the ball on the right. He set off on a run before unleashing a tremendous drive that flew into the net to seal the win for the Juniors, this left no time for the Colts to recover as the Juniors came out on top in this derby encounter.
