HOUSING provision by Malvern Hills District Council is the best in Worcestershire, according to the Government.
MHDC was given an "above average" rating by the Government Office for the West Midlands, following its Housing Investment Programme survey.
This makes it the best performing district council for housing in Worcestershire and in the top third for the region.
MHDC head of housing, revenues and technical services, Keith Parry, said: "This is a recognition that we're doing the right things and we're very proud to have achieved it."
The assessment is based on how well councils work with housing associations and private landlords to provide affordable rented accommodation for residents. Councils must also show they have schemes to allow the frail and elderly to continue living in their own homes.
