SIXWAYS was buzzing once again this week as it played host to the annual WASP Sports Awards evening.
Worcester Rugby Club's ground was the venue for the Worcestershire All Sports Partnership awards on Wednesday as outstanding local talent received recognition.
The Senior Sports Personality Of The Year award went to Gordon Reeves of Worcester Swimming Club following his gold medal at the British Masters.
The Junior Sports Personality Of The Year accolade was Wycliffe Rowing Club's Pippa Turner while the Disabled Sports Personality Of The Year title went to athletics and swim star Steven Boyce.
Malvern Rugby Club's Adam Blackmore picked up the Coach Of The Year award while Worcester Norton Hockey Club's girls under-15s were named Junior Team Of The Year.
Redditch Girls Football Team took the title of Club Of The Year as the final award for outstanding contribution to sport was shared by Pat Wallace and Les Bishop. Wallace's commitment to tennis across Redditch and Bromsgrove was recognised while Bishop's contribution to cricket in Worcestershire was honoured.
