FURTHER to the speed-bust scheme article (Evening News, Tuesday, April 8), I am left wondering how the public views this.
Every night I read of sex fiends, muggings, arsonists, indecency, louts, pensioners punched, drug pushers, a little girl pushed into a canal and so on.
Since the article, a recent survey has exposed that the police have lost control of law and order. This scheme is to cost £3m in the first year. By my rough reckoning this equates to 136 bobbies that could be on the beat.
