DANNY McDonnell will keep a wary eye on Grantham Town's Stuart Wilson during the opening exchanges at St George's Lane tomorrow (3pm).
The Gingerbreads' striker put the ball past the Worcester City keeper twice in the opening 19 minutes during February's amazing encounter at South Kesteven Stadium.
John Barton's side hit back with three quick goals in the space of five minutes for a thrilling 3-2 win, capped by a brilliant winner from Mitch Counsell, but once again City were also indebted to McDonnell for another penalty save.
McDonnell, consistently City's most impressive performer in their Dr Martens Premier Division campaign, produced another superb penalty stop against Bath on Saturday to leave even the modest 'keeper quietly pleased.
"To be honest I have saved a few penalties in my time but I was actually quite pleased," he said.
"He struck it quite well, low down to my right and I was happy with the save.
"I didn't think it would count for much because they scored but luckily we went on to win the game and it was nice to get one of those under our belts."
While Grantham still need points to ensure survival, City are striving for a top three finish though their hopes took a battering with a 2-0 defeat at Hednesford -- a result which McDonnell is still scratching his head about.
"I think to be fair if you went through the Hednesford game with a fine tooth comb they probably just shaded it in chances but we had a little bit more possession," he added.
"Neither side however created chances of note and I still haven't got over the fact that we lost.
"If ever I've played in a game that was 0-0 that was it."
City, ravaged by injury and suspension, will look to John Snape for inspiration as they bid to end the season on a winning note and McDonnell is unstinting in his praise of the midfielder.
"John has been a massive influence but he always has been," said McDonnell.
"I played with him six or seven years ago at Halesowen and he was a huge influence then even in his mid-20s. John's an infectious character in the changing room and as he's got older has become even more of an influence.
"You can see the difference he's made in the last two games and it emphasises how much we have missed him.
"I think if everybody is honest it has been very disappointing of late.
"The way things have finished have to a certain extent been taken out of our hands with one thing or another although we have let ourselves down in the last couple of months.
"I haven't looked at a league table recently but I presume we can still finish in the top three and it would be good to win the last two games though it might be a tall order with the injuries."
FORMCAST: City to win 2-1.
