PROJECTS that help to regenerate the countryside are being sought for an environmental competition.
One thousand pounds is up for grabs in this year's Bulmers Award for Sustainable Innovation in the Countryside.
The Hereford cider maker is putting up the cash for the award, which is run in association with the Three Counties Countryside Show, in Malvern, due to take place from Friday, June 13 to Sunday, June 15.
Projects can be connected with farming, tourism, leisure or business but they must deliver economic, environmental and social benefits and must be sustainable.
Tim Epps, orcharding manager at Bulmers, said the award was a "wonderful opportunity" to recognise the many projects in the area already promoting sustainable development as "the best way forward" for the region.
"These projects change how we interact with the countryside," he said.
To enter, send a description of the project, together with any leaflets or photographs, to: Bulmers Award for Sustainable Innovation in the Countryside, Three Counties Countryside Show, Malvern. The deadline is May 31, 2003.
