BUSINESSMAN and owner of the Faithful City's rugby club Cecil Duckworth has just made it on to the Sunday Times 2003 Rich List.
Mr Duckworth is ranked at 976 with an estimated fortune of £30m.
Much of this has come from the sale of his central heating business, which he set up from scratch, to Bosch in 1992 for £72m.
He is also the founder of the Duckworth Trust, which is a registered charity, established in 1998 for philanthropic reasons. The Trust is dedicated to the conservation, protection and enhancement of the natural and built environments for the people of Worcestershire.
Mr Duckworth rarely shows signs of a millionaire's lifestyle though the tale of his application for membership at a golf club in Barbados is amusing.
He was turned away from the golf club on the island because he was a non-resident, so he returned days later as the proud owner of a villa - and was duly welcomed in.
Originally from Macclesfield, Mr Duckworth is a fan of Manchester United, and used to watch them play from the terraces.
Also on the list is Jorgen Philip Sorensen, who is the founder Worcestershire-based security firm Group 4 Falck. He is ranked at 52 with an estimated wealth of £550m.
The Sunday Times Rich List is published tomorrow.
