TWENTY one years after Nothing On Noises Off opened at the Savoy Theatre, London, where it ran for five years and won every major Best Comedy Award, it is coming to Malvern.
Nothing On Noises Off is a comic romp which offers two plays for the price of one.
While the traditional British farce is being performed, a real life farce is unfolding backstage during the show's final rehearsal and the ensuing disastrous tour.
The two shows interlock, as the actors make their exits from one play only to find themselves making entrances into the other and back again.
Nothing on Noises Off stars Sylvester McCoy, the seventh Dr Who in the long running TV series, who has appeared on stage in Funeral Games, Temptation, Anthony and Cleopatra and The Taming of the Shrew, all in the West End.
Returning to Malvern to star in the show is Paul Bradley, best known for his role as hapless Nigel Bates in TV soap EastEnders.
Nigel played Idle Jack in last Christmas's Malvern Theatres pantomime Dick Whittington.
Cheryl Campbell also stars as the down-on-her-luck stage star Dotty Otley. Campbell's West End credits include Life After George and Passion Play.
Philip Franks has appeared in the West End in Art, Marat/Sade and Ivanov.
Noises Off plays Malvern Festival Theatre from Monday, April 28, until Saturday, May 3.
Tickets £22-£14. Box office 01684 892277.
