Gresley Rvrs 3, Evesham Utd 0
ONCE Rovers had taken the lead within a minute of the restart, there was only going to be one winner last Saturday.
Evesham more than held their own in the opening half but failed to respond after Carl Timms bundled in the opening goal after Tim Hart had saved the striker's initial effort.
Inderpaul Khela shot tamely wide when well placed and Nick Heath headed over in the opening 45 minutes but a typically well-struck drive from distance by Nathan Jukes was United's solitary second half effort.
Jukes replaced Jay Powell in the back four, while Mark Shepherd returned up front without having any chances to add to his impressive recent tally.
The visitors were saved by the woodwork when Gary White's first half dead ball kick hit a post and the frame of the goal twice came to Hart's rescue after the break as Gresley got more on top.
Craig Hopkins was denied by an upright, while Hart tipped another effort onto the crossbar.
An equaliser was out of the question as the Robins' attack drew a blank for a third successive match but it took two late goals to finally seal the Common Road side's fate.
White volleyed in Gresley's second eight minutes from time before substitute Earl Alexander's run and cross was turned past Hart by Paul West four minutes later.
