MONDAY Division One of the E&E Engineering Worcester Friendly Skittle League has been thrown wide open thanks to Crown Regulars' defeat of leaders Hillbillies by 16 pins.
It was a close game over the first four legs, with never more than two pins in it.
All square going into the last leg the Hillbillies scored 80.
The Crown got just the boost they needed, Brian Woodward bowling at two flooring a 14 spare, and Bill Evans took a 13 spare to ensure victory.
The Hillbillies still lead by five
but must win at Cardents, failure to do so could see them finish the season with nothing.
Second placed Crown entertain Rushwick, while third placed Kingfishers a further two points adrift will be looking to make home advantage count against the Glovers.
In Division Two the Lakes need to beat visitors Claines to join the top flight next season.
Any slip up could well see the Interliners take their place if they too can get a result against the Headers.
