TAYLOR declines my offer of starting a new party. Well, I wasn't holding my breath, Mr Taylor. I didn't think for one minute that you would.

But I read the rest of your letter with interest. I had a smile at your silly claims that the people vote for the same party year after year.

That's precisely my point - they don't have any other party to vote for, so can you blame them?

Then you state that you helped start the Association of Independents. Can you imagine a room of Independents, all arguing about the same subjects, but every one with different views? They will still be at it in a week's time.

Nothing would be done and then you will be complaining about that.

Regarding your remark about, spoiling your ballot paper, to show your contempt for the electoral system, what does that prove, Mr Taylor?

If you spoil your paper it does not count, so you might as well stay at home.

M CARTWRIGHT,

Worcester.
