A NUMBER of players will be kissing goodbye to their Aggborough careers on Saturday when Kidderminster Harriers complete their Nationwide Division Three season with a home encoun-ter against Bristol Rovers.
No fewer than nine campaigners are out of contract this summer with manager Ian Britton already hinting that a clear-out is on the cards.
He said: "I know in my own mind who I will be offering new deals to, but it's also fair to say there will be some players being released."
Among those out of contract will be experienced captain Sean Flynn, who said: "We'll see what happens at the end of the season. Hopefully, I'll have another year or so, we'll see.
"I've just got to get my head down and perform in the next match."
Sweating
Other players sweating on their Aggborough futures are Danny Williams, Sam Shilton, John Danby, Hugh McAuley, Lee Ayres and Dion Scott.
Striker Ian Foster has already been told he can leave this summer while midfielder John Melligan and front-runner Andy Bishop look set to return to their clubs -- Wolverhampton Wanderers and Walsall respectively -- after lengthy loan spells at Aggborough.
Defender Kenny Coleman, who has also been on loan at Kidderminster this season, becomes a free agent after being informed by Wolves that his Molineux contract will not be renewed.
Britton says he will not reveal his retained list until mid-table Harriers end their campaign on Saturday with an all-ticket clash against Bristol Rovers, who will arrive at Aggborough after a successful battle against relegation.
The Kidderminster chief, however, is determined not to rush into signing new players for next season and accepts that he is unlikely to have any extra money available for recruitment.
He said: "It's difficult because my hands are tied. We can only pay what we can afford. I don't think anything will change in terms of money, it's more likely to be less than more."
However, with hard-up clubs throughout the Nationwide League cutting back on their squads, Britton hopes to pick up a bargain or two at the right price.
"The market will be flooded with available players this summer and there are already a few I will be keeping my eye on," said the Harriers' manager.
"I won't be rushing in trying to sign the first player that become available.
"If I have to wait right until the end of the summer to get the right players than I will do.
"Things will be even harder next season but we will fight on and try ande use the loan system like we have done this year.
"We'll try again to improve on this season's effort."
