A Droitwich Spa High School pupil has landed a dream job dancing at Disneyland Paris.

Katy Bourne, from Witton Road, Droitwich, will entertain the hundreds of thousands of people who visit one of Europe's biggest attractions each year.

"I have always wanted to be a dancer," said Katy.

"This was the first audition I went to and I never expected to get it."

"It is an open-ended contact so I go out in August and stay for however long they want me."

"My parents are really happy and proud of me."

Katy has been dancing for the past eight years and says she would love to perform in the West End one day.

She won the contract after a successful audition in London last Monday.

When she arrives in Paris she will spend five days at the Disney "university", where she will learn dance routines for the daily parades.

Moving to France does not worry her as she is studying the language as one of her A-levels.

Katy was planning to study English at the University of Surrey from September but has now decided to defer entry for a year.

She dances with the Crescent Ballet School, which holds classes at Ronkswood Community Centre, and is run by Jane Chance.

"I am over the moon," said Ms Chance.

"I am glad I sent her to the audition!"
