FERNHILL County Sports begin a busy 48 hours with a trip to Continental Star in the ICIS Midland Combination Premier Division tonight (7.45).

Geoff Woodward's side, who cruised to a 4-0 win over bottom club Cheslyn Hay at the weekend, also have the Smedley Crooke Cup Final clash with Northwood Town to look forward to on Thursday night.

Victory for Sports could lift them into eighth place, but with Thursday's final foremost in his thoughts, Woodward will field a largely inexperienced side with youngsters Carl Martin and John Warman set to start.

"We can take any chances of people picking up knocks tonight so a few of the reserves and youngsters will be playing," said the Sports manager.

"We beat them first time round but they are a good mid-table side and it will be difficult."

Also in ICIS Midland Combination Premier Division action tonight are Pershore Town who are at home to third-placed Alvechurch (7.45) with manager Nigel Russell already thinking ahead to next season.

"There's nothing to play for so we're looking to filter out players and find out who we want to keep for next year," he said.

Sweeper Stuart Allen and defender Jamie Bird are poised to start.

* Victory for leaders Westfields at Sedgley White Lions tonight (7.45) will virtually seal the West Midlands Premier Division title for the Hereford side.

The Rotherwas club are nine points ahead of Kington, who also have four games remaining, and can clinch the championship when the sides meet on Bank Holiday Monday.

* The Worcester and District League's Baylis Cup final takes place tomorrow night when Worcester City face Droitwich Spa at St George's Lane (7.30pm).
