Alleycats were the giant killers in the first round of the Worcester and District Skittle League Team Knockout Cup.
The Division Four side played Independents of Division One on the Goodrest, and superbly led by opening bowler Brian Williams who scored 39, won the game without using the handicap by 30 pins.
Other lower division teams who beat higher-graded opposition -- in each case the handicap was not used -- were XS Pins, Stowaways, Mad Bulls, Sausagemen and Grasshoppers.
