WORCESTERSHIRE'S bowlers met strong resistance on the second day of the two-day friendly match against Sussex at Hove.
Sussex scored 341-5 off their 79 overs before play was called off and the match declared a draw.
This was in reply to Worcestershire's 85-over total of 342-6.
For Sussex, Richard Montgomerie top scored with a fine 104, Chris Adams made 64 and Robin Martin-Jenkins was 55 not out.
The six-strong County bowling attack shared the duties throughout the day with left-arm quickie Mark Harrity taking 2-60 off 17 overs and off-spinner Vikram Solanki taking 2-64 off 14 overs.
South African fast bowler Nantie Hayward took his first wicket with a final return of 1-56 off 12 overs, while Kabir Ali, Chris Liptrot and David Leatherdale completed the bowling attack on the day.
Worcestershire will play Herefordshire on Sunday at Colwall in a David Leatherdale benefit match (1pm).
The first championship game of the season will be at New Road against Hampshire starting next Friday.
n Australia took control on the first day of the opening Test against the West Indies in Georgetown.
Steve Waugh's men reached 120-1 at the close of play in reply to the West Indies first innings total of 237. Andy Bichel took three wickets.
